Can You Buy Shoe Racks For Inside Your Wardrobe?

Friday March 5, 2010

Shoe racks are a great idea for keeping all your shoes neatly in one place. But where do you put the shoe racks in the first place?

Some people like to buy stand alone cabinets to put somewhere in their bedroom. Alternatively they may like to put them in a utility room or perhaps near the front or back door.

But it all depends on the amount of space you have available. For example if you live somewhere that has very small rooms you may not have enough space to allow for installing a shoe rack of any particular size like this.

In this case you have to be a bit more practical. For example can you think of installing a shoe rack actually inside your wardrobe?

This can be a good solution but you need to be very precise with the amount of space you have available. For starters you need to measure the amount of room you have inside the wardrobe and figure out how high you can have it. If you reorganise the contents of your wardrobe you might be able to go higher than you think. Put all the tops and shorter items to one end and the longer pieces towards the other end. Then you can buy a shoe rack for one end that is much easier to fit in.

Secondly you need to think about the different styles of shoe racks that are available. For example if you are really pushed for space you might want to think about having a shoe tidy rather than a rack. These have velcroed tops that attach over the hanging rail across the top of the wardrobe, so you can add your shoes inside them. They hang down and take up much of the length of the wardrobe without taking up lots of room going across. And of course they are tidier as well.

These are available quite cheaply but there are other options as well. If you have larger wardrobes think about getting a smaller cabinet to go inside them. You can still fit all your shoes in them and the tops of the cabinets can be useful for other items too.

So you see there are always options if you are short on space. And keeping your shoes neat and tidy is always a good thing too.
