Do You Need a Flexible Shoe Rack?

Monday November 15, 2010

Shoe racks are available in every shape, size and style. But if you have ever been shopping for one (online or otherwise) you will probably have found that trying to get one to fit the space you have available can be extremely difficult.

You might well be nodding your head at this. Just imagine having twenty centimetres to fill up and the closest you can get to it is twenty one centimetres. Shoe racks do not always fill the gaps you have available, and in this case it might be worth looking for flexible shoe racks instead.

What exactly are flexible shoe racks, you ask? Well, the clue is obviously in the word ‘flexible’ but it doesn’t necessarily point to something that you can bend and flex just as you want to. Instead it points to a system that you can use to create your own shoe rack from.

Think of this as a set of components that allows you to put together something that will be ideal for you. For instance if you have space under the stairs you will know you have an awkward space to fill. Ideally you want something staggered that takes into account the shape of the stairs themselves – and a flexible rack will do just that.

You can get flexible shoe racks from several different outlets. They are all slightly different and the idea is that you fix together different items to make up the size you want. It is important to shop around to see how many different flexible systems you can find. The first one you find may not be ideal for your needs, whereas the next one could be just perfect. Don’t assume that they will all be identical because the sizes and options can vary a lot.

The other major benefit of flexible racks like these, apart from being able to fit them into many odd areas, is that they can grow as your shoe collection grows. Make sure any system you buy will be around for some time to come, so that you can buy more as and when you need to. This will be far better in some situations than buying a static shoe rack that you could grow out of very quickly indeed. The more you know about flexible systems the more you will realise that these could be just perfect for you and your shoes.
