Shoe Racks for Kids

Wednesday October 7, 2009

Sometimes it can be a nightmare to get your kids to clean up after themselves and to teach them that things need to be tidied up in order to keep a nice atmosphere in the house. It is very important that children learn at a young age that everything should have its place and that they need to help with putting things away so that they grow up with the knowledge that they need to make sure that the house is presentable.

Children often have many pairs of shoes; for school, practical for walking in, ones to wear to birthday parties – the list is endless! If you do not have anywhere for your child to keep these shoes, they will end up all over the place, which will not only make your house appear untidy but may also mean that the shoes will get damaged.

A great place for your children to put their shoes is in a shoe rack. These are designed specifically for this purpose, which means that you will be teaching them to put things in their rightful place. Shoe racks come in all shapes, sizes and designs so you are sure to be able to find a great one which meets your needs. However, there are some amazing designs which have been created just for children.

One type of shoe rack that you can find for kids is a revolving style one; shoes are hooked over the metal rack parts and it can be turned to show the shoes on the other side. The children’s design of this has been made so that the part you hook the shoes over is smaller than it would be for adults, meaning that they fit perfectly. Other designs include over the door shoe racks and wardrobe hanging ones which are made in fantastic colours for the bedrooms of children. For example, what could be better for your little girl than a pink shoe rack that she will like the look of and will also help you out by increasing storage space? Some of these kinds of shoe storage also have funky pictures on them which will look great in your kids’ rooms and will encourage them to put their shoes away.

Stackable shoe racks come in all different colours and materials, and these may be a fantastic idea for children, also. Since they can be put together and dismantled, your child will enjoy the feeling of being able to put this furniture together themselves and will thus be more likely to use it. The fact that these come in a variety of colours means that you can co-ordinate them to your children’s bedrooms; not only will their room be tidy and free of rogue shoes, but the new shoe rack will also look absolutely fantastic and fit in completely!
